Celebrate Manufacturing Month with two San Francisco–based businesses shaping fashion through creativity, craftsmanship and community. Nooworks, founded in 2005 by Jennifer (Jen) D’Angelo, is known for its bold prints, inclusive sizing and commitment to ethical, U.S.-based production. Bryr Studio, founded by Isobel Schofield in 2012, designs and handcrafts modern clogs in its Dogpatch workshop, blending timeless design with sustainable, small-batch manufacturing.
In this Small Business Spotlight, D’Angelo and Schofield discuss their journeys as designers and entrepreneurs, the challenges and rewards of keeping production local, and the creative power of collaboration.
This program is part of the San Francisco Public Library’s celebration of Manufacturing Month, highlighting the innovation, creativity and community impact of local makers and manufacturers.
