Step into a world where Oz meets the art of drag! Join Drag Story Hour and Lil Miss Hot Mess—author, activist and one of DSH’s original storytellers—for a special Queer Visitors salon celebrating ten glittering years of Drag Story Hour.
This session will feature a lively discussion of Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz (1908), the fourth book in L. Frank Baum’s beloved Oz series—where earthquakes, glass cities, and talking animals meet themes of transformation, courage and friendship.
Queer Visitors is Drag Story Hour’s newest program for LGBTQIA+ adults: a national book club and literary drag series rooted in queer joy, community, and classic storytelling. Part literary salon, part chosen-family circle, the program blends literature, drag and discussion in joyful, genre-bending ways. Join us for an afternoon of storytelling, reflection and community as we toast both a decade of Drag Story Hour and the exciting launch of Queer Visitors. Expect laughter, literary surprises, and a little light magic from your favorite queens of the page and stage. RSVP recommended.
