Create something beautiful from brokenness. Local artist Louise Diskerud will guide attendees through a hands-on session inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, using gold to highlight and honor the places where things have been repaired. In this workshop, participants will create a paper-based interpretation of kintsugi, exploring the technique’s themes in an accessible, creative format.
Louis Diskerud is a mixed-media artist with extensive experience in ceramics restoration and community arts education. She brings a thoughtful approach to exploring creativity through imperfection. Her artwork is currently on display at the Eureka Valley branch, offering a deeper look at the themes she will explore during the workshop.
