Author Eric C. Gray reads from his new book, Backyards to Ballparks: More Personal Stories from the Stands and Beyond. This collection is the second intsallment of stories which was inspired by an afternoon at the ballpark, when the author asked his wife, daughter and friend “what is your favorite game that you have been to?” That question and answers took on a life of their own and changed his life in ways he never could have anticipated.
Eric C. Gray is from Plainview, New York, and earned his BA from SUNY New Paltz. He came to San Francisco in 1974 and soon began a 39-year career at the U.S. Department of Labor, administering job training and employment programs for disadvantaged youth, most of that time spent with the Job Corps program.
