Celebrating Local Stories, Neighborhood by Neighborhood
Experience San Francisco’s neighborhoods in a new way with the Library’s Small Business Strolls—a series of guided walking tours celebrating the creativity and resilience of local entrepreneurs. Each stroll highlights a distinct commercial corridor, inviting participants to explore small, independent businesses that shape the character and culture of their communities. Along the route, guests enjoy short, engaging conversations with business owners, learning about their journeys, challenges and inspirations. Between stops, there’s time to browse, shop and connect with fellow attendees while discovering hidden gems right in your neighborhood. From bookshops and cafés to wellness studios and local retailers, each location offers exclusive promotions and raffle prizes for event guests. Past strolls have spotlighted beloved corridors like the Tenderloin, Glen Park and Valencia Street in partnership with local merchant associations and history projects. Whether you’re a longtime resident or new to the area, these free, all-ages events foster connection, support local commerce and showcase the small businesses that make San Francisco thrive—one neighborhood at a time. Presented by San Francisco Public Library’s Small Business Center, advancing entrepreneurship, community engagement and economic vitality citywide.
