Learn how to use Fastcase legal database. Fastcase is a legal research service that provides access to a wide range of legal documents, including U.S. Supreme Court cases, federal district and appellate court decisions, federal bankruptcy and tax court opinions, as well as federal and state statutes and regulations.
Fastcase is free and accessible anywhere through the San Francisco Law Library. A law librarian from the San Francisco Law Library will provide an overview of how to use the Fastcase database for case law research.
You will learn how to:
- Access Fastcase remotely
- Search for cases
- Search for statutes
- Print and save documents
- Other ways to do case law research
- Databases only available in-person at the San Francisco Law Library (Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg)
- Find other free legal database options

The San Francisco Law Library, located at 1145 Market Street, 4th Floor, is open to the public and offers free legal information and services to help you understand the law and protect your rights.
