Carol Queen reads from her memoir-in-progress, followed by a conversation about your San Francisco memories.
Generously supported by an Artist Grant from the SF Arts Commission, Carol Queen is documenting her life in San Francisco from the AIDS years—when she arrived to make a difference—through her time at the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality, her involvement with San Francisco Sex Information, and her entry into sex work. Her research continues through her work with Good Vibrations, the Center for Sex & Culture and beyond.
Join us to hear excerpts from her memoir-in-progress, which depicts the sex-positive community she helped foster through her essays and fiction. Engage in a Q&A session with Carol Queen, and reminisce about the 1990s or your favorite moments from your own San Francisco journey.
Carol Queen, PhD, is the author of Real Live Nude Girl: Chronicles of Sex-Positive Culture, Exhibitionism for the Shy, The Sex & Pleasure Book and other works. She has been with Good Vibrations for over 33 years and co-founded the Center for Sex & Culture with her partner Robert Morgan Lawrence.
