Join us for a commemoration of the third day of Kwanzaa as we celebrate Ujima, collective work and responsibility, with the Village Project and saxophonist Ashley Jeminson.
Our program begins with pouring of libations and a Kwanzaa message and before our feature musical performance of Together We Rise, a 30-minute live saxophone experience celebrating connection, community, and the collective spirit of Ujima. Through a vibrant blend of jazz, soul, R&B, and uplifting contemporary selections, saxophonist Ashley Jemison invites audiences of all ages to experience music as a shared language—one that brings people together, honors those who came before us, and celebrates what we can create together.
Following the performance, participants are welcome to partake in a feast prepared by Nia Soul Food.
