14th Annual Tricycle Music Fest Rolls Out All-Ages Celebration

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2025) — Join San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) in celebrating 14 years of Rock! Play! Learn! with the annual all-ages music celebration, Tricycle Music Fest. Throughout October, families are invited to sing and dance along to weekly live performances hosted by SFPL across San Francisco, with a chance to win a special prize at each show.

"Music and singing are key tools for developing pre-literacy skills such as phonological awareness and learning new vocabulary," says Early Learning Coordinator, Ruben Balderas. "Plus, seeing families together singing, dancing and smiling. It's truly the best."

Tricycle Music Fest kicks off on October 4 with a special show by Bay Area-based Megan Schoenbohm at Eureka Valley Branch, featuring an original and uplifting set of family music. Attendees can also catch her second performance at Parkside Branch as part of the library’s open house celebration, where families can enjoy fun activities, workshops, giveaways and more.

The next week follows with 2015 Latin Grammy winner, 2025 Grammy Award winner and bestselling author Lucky Diaz, who brings his bilingual head-bopping indie tunes to Visitacion Valley Branch and West Portal Branch.

The festivities continue with René y Familia, a three-generation family band and composers for KTVU’s SF Loves Learning, who bring a traditional Latin performance honed over the decades throughout the Bay. Inspired by cumbia, rancheras and corridos, don’t miss the chance to see them live at Excelsior Branch during Sunday Streets; and if you do, catch their encore at Marina Branch.

Tricycle Music Fest concludes with an electric performance by 2023 Grammy Award-winning hip-hop children’s music group Alphabet Rockers, featuring uplifting, empowering, change-making music for all ages. Visit the North Beach Branch for a can’t-miss show. Alphabet Rockers are also bringing the energy to the SFPL Book Stop kiosk at the Dogpatch Hub on Minnesota Street.

And don’t forget! Concertgoers are entered into a raffle at the end of each show for a special prize: a new, red, shiny tricycle and matching helmet.

Tricycle Music Fest is proudly sponsored by Friends of the San Francisco Public Library, providing families of all backgrounds with the best in family music at SFPL’s community spaces. For more information, visit sfpl.org/tricycle.
