In a distant future, the human race has lost its individuality. Everyone dresses the same, and people live in complete subservience to the State. Love and sex is a crime. One man, designated THX-1138, begins to consider the unthinkable: he is in love with LUH-3417 and wants out.
Directed by George Lucas and released March 11, 1971, filming locations include the unfinished tunnels of the BART subway system, the Caldecott Tunnel in Oakland, the Posey Tunnel in Alameda, the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, and SFO.
THX 1138 is available for free with your SFPL library card on DVD and Blu-ray.
