San Francisco, CA, July 27, 2026 — San Francisco Public Library (SFPL) is partnering with the Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) Community Reentry Unit to help individuals navigating reentry connect with employment opportunities. On August 6, the Main Library will host a free employment resource fair along with two presentations on how to apply for City and State positions.

“As parole agents, our goal is to see individuals successfully rebuild their lives and safely rejoin our neighborhoods,” says Tobias Tenorio, Parole Agent II Specialist. “This collaboration between the Division of Adult Parole Operations and the City of San Francisco reinforces that goal. By blending State-funded resources and oversight with the City’s localized resources—like housing, mental health support and job training—we give justice-involved individuals a real, structured path to stability. When state and local teams pull in the same direction, we lower the chances of reoffending, which ultimately creates a safer, stronger community for every resident of San Francisco." 

“It can be incredibly difficult to find a job after leaving jail or prison. Even navigating an online application process is overwhelming for people who have been away from technology,” says Rachel Kinnon, SFPL’s Jail and Reentry Services Manager. “People coming home from prison need a job to stabilize and support themselves, and we hope this event will connect job-seekers with support and job opportunities.” 

“At the California Department of Human Resources, we believe every reentering job seeker deserves a fair chance to pursue meaningful work,” says CalHR Director Monica Erickson. “We’re here to help connect their skills and aspirations with the wide range of opportunities in state service — opportunities that support a life well lived.”
