What is the D&D Internship at SFPL?
D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) Internship at SFPL is a paid workforce development program that requires 11th and 12th graders to run weekly D&D sessions for youth during the school year. Applicants must have experience being Dungeon Masters and running D&D campaigns, including a knowledge of the rules and game mechanics.
What are the requirements for being selected for this internship?
- Interns are required to attend orientation and trainings that support the development of D&D campaigns, including character creation, worldbuilding, and collaborative storytelling, and run weekly D&D sessions.
- Time commitment is 6-10 hours each week.
- Must be willing to travel to SFPL Main Library, 100 Larkin St., as well as local branch libraries.
- Applicants must have experience running in-person D&D campaigns. Applicants must also be enthusiastic about supporting the Library’s Mission Statement and creating a space for youth to socialize and participate in collaborative storytelling.
How long is the internship?
The internship will run from October 2024-April 2025.
Is this a paid internship?
Yes, interns are paid a wage of $18.93/hr.
How does a teen apply for D&D at SFPL?
We are proud to partner with JCYC and SF YouthWorks to coordinate application submissions. Teens must:
- Live in San Francisco
- 11th or 12th Grade in Fall 2024
- Experience running a D&D campaign as a Dungeon Master
