The contributions of women to the jazz landscape are far-reaching, from the blues, folk music, and the Great American Songbook, through the swing and bebop eras, and beyond. For our Women’s History Month series, we will highlight some of the extraordinary songwriters, composers, and arrangers who not only penned enduring hits, but also stood shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts. Poet Imani Cezanne joins us in acknowledging the many phenomenal contributions of women in American music

HERstory, celebration of Women’s History Month, honoring the contributions of women and the unique experience of being female today.
