This class will introduce you to general resources that will help you become a more informed and empowered job seeker. You will learn about:

  • Where to look for job openings
  • Classes and eLearning
  • Local community job centers
  • Free and low cost career counseling
  • Information for teens, veterans, LGBTQQ and older worker job seekers
  • Résumé tools
  • Job fairs and job clubs
  • Internships and job training
  • Green jobs
  • Tools for researching companies
  • Current salary and job market information
  • Building lists of potential employers and much more…

This information will prepare you for a more purposeful and skilled job search. The tools and resources offered are free or low cost and available to all. Some resources may require a SFPL library card and PIN number, which are very easy to get. 

Staff from a local community center will conduct information sessions and a ‘skill-share’ that you may add to your job search tool kit right away.

This class repeats every 2nd Wed. of the month.
