Did you know that California has not lost a House of Representatives seat since 1850? If the inhabitants of California don't participate in the decennial census, which starts in January 2020, it is possible that California may lose federal representation in the House - for the first time in 170 years!

Get involved and earn extra income while helping your community!

Drop by the Atrium at the Main Library, and a federal census bureau employee can answer questions, and help you to apply for temporary part-time employment as a census taker.

This is a Census 2020 program from SFPL. This series offers assistance and information to help assure a complete count in the 2020 Census. A complete count is essential; the Census determines the number of seats we have in the U.S. House of Representatives and is used to distribute billions of dollars in federal funds to state and local governments.
