We discuss Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz's An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States. This book challenges the founding myth of the United States and shows how policy against the Indigenous peoples was genocidal and imperialist, designed to crush the original inhabitants. Told from the viewpoint of the Indigenous, it reveals how Native Americans, for centuries, actively resisted expansion of the U.S. empire. Reading the book is not required but is recommended. The book is used as a guidepost to discussion about race.

Social Justice Book Club focusing on antiracism, understanding and working toward ending systemic racism and inequity.
