Fodor's, Lonely Planet and Rick Steves travel guides are flying from library shelves.  To encourage patron wanderlust, Potrero Branch presents Before Sunrise.

Rail passengers Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) share a chance encounter traveling from Hungary to Paris. With the train racing through scenic Eastern European countryside, the movie audience, as passengers, feels as if they are aboard with Jesse and Celine. They delight overhearing their natural conversation and absorb the electricity of their chemistry.

Jesse invites Celine to spend the day with him in Vienna rather than her continuing to Paris. Possibly reconsidering while she gazes rightward, her eyes turn left toward Jesse. She trusts and steps onto the Westbahnhof platform. The together adventure of Jesse and Celine begins and circles emotionally sunrise upon sunrise.

PG, 100 mins., 1995.
