The National Parklands of San Francisco and Marin are rich in cultural and natural history. This presentation matches beautiful and fascinating archival photographs of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) with photos from today to tell the agricultural, conservationist, recreational and military stories of our region. "I am a volunteer photographer and docent with the GGNRA working on a project called, "Ghosts of the Golden Gate: Now & Then." Our project is to gather beautiful archival photographs from around the park, match them up with interesting photos from today, and add interpretive narration. Our purpose is to bring the historic continuity of the parklands alive for visitors and residents of the communities nearby."
