Grant Faulkner leads an engaging workshop as he explores the art of brevity and teaches you the craft of crafting captivating very short stories using techniques from his book, The Art of Brevity: Crafting the Very Short Story. He will be joined in conversation with award-winning author and writing coach Faith Adiele.

Faulkner is the Executive Director of NaNoWriMo and co-founder of 100 Word Story. He has published two books on writing, Pep Talks for Writers: 52 Insights and Actions to Boost Your Creative Mojo and Brave the Page, a teen writing guide. His work has been featured in literary magazines and anthologies, and his essays on creativity have been published in prestigious publications. Faulkner is actively involved in various writing organizations and serves on several councils. He co-hosts the podcast Write-minded.

Adiele is the author of two memoirs:  The Nigerian-Nordic Girl’s Guide to Lady Problems, a witty, tricultural e/audio chapbook about black women and fibroids, and Meeting Faith, a travel memoir about becoming Thailand’s first black Buddhist nun. Educated at Harvard University, the Nonfiction Writing Program at Iowa, and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, Faith has lived in West Africa and Southeast Asia, worked as a diversity trainer and community activist, and taught travel writing and memoir from Bali to Ghana to Switzerland. She is Associate Professor of Writing at California College of the Arts and CNF faculty at Stonecoast Low-Residency MFA Program.
