Nanni Moretti directed and stars in this moving and seemingly simple story of a psychoanalyst whose calm and orderly existence is upended by a family tragedy. An Italian film, not well known in the United States, despite winning the Palme d'Or award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2001. This overlooked gem deserves a place in any filmography on the subject of grief.
