Bangon Kabayan: Pistahan sa Fulton (Rise Up, Fellow Filipinos) is a vibrant barrio fiesta-style celebration in honor of Filipino American History Month! Hosted by the Filipino American Center, this family-friendly event pays tribute to the powerful legacy of Filipino boxing in San Francisco and beyond — from the turn of the 20th-century to today’s most beloved champions. Experience the rich heritage, cultural pride and indomitable spirit of Filipino Americans through music, food, art and community.

Event highlights include:

Live Entertainment on the Fulton Steps

  • 12:30-1:30 PM: Martial arts and boxing demonstration with Master Danovis "Dee" Pooler 
  • 2:00-3:00 PM: Traditional Filipino cultural dance performance by LIKHA Pilipino Folk Ensemble
  • 3:30-4:00 PM: Live music performance by Power Struggle 

Food & Flavors

  • Filipino American food truck, Los Kuyas

Community & Culture

  • The iconic SOMA Pilipinas Jeepney
  • Local small business vendors showcasing Filipino goods and crafts, in partnership with the Small Business Center
