Join us for a free public workshop on preventing food waste and protecting your wallet. Most of us hate to waste food – whether its produce that spoils too quickly or leftovers we forget to eat. After all, wasted food is wasted money. At this workshop, you will learn simple storage tricks and everyday food waste prevention tips that keep food fresh longer, stretch your grocery dollars, and help reduce the amount of food that goes to waste. Our team will also guide attendees through Recology’s three-bin system—recycle, compost, and landfill—to ensure proper sorting and reduce contamination.
Did you know that around 40% of all food produced in the U.S. is wasted each year? That’s about $218 billion worth of food thrown away annually. By making small changes in how we shop, store, and eat food, we can make a big impact.
Come ready to learn, ask questions, and save money and resources in your own kitchen to reduce food waste.
We will provide free giveaways while supplies last!
Space is limited. Reservation required: 415-355-2848. (Starting November 1st).
