The Asian Law Caucus presents this program on immigrant tenant and worker rights, including what to do during ICE encounters at home or at work. An overview of housing and workers' rights laws will be provided along with resources for community members.

About the presenters:

Mei Mei Chan is a Community Advocate with the Workers' Rights Program where she supports the legal counseling clinic and works on "Know Your Workers' Rights" trainings and materials.

Faustina Ngô (they/she) is a Housing Rights Community Advocate at the Asian Law Caucus.  They assist with the Asian Law Caucus' biweekly housing clinic, support clients with their eviction cases and provide outreach Know-Your-Rights materials to the community.

About the Asian Law Caucus:

The Asian Law Caucus is the nation's first Asian American legal and civil rights organization.  Since 1972, the Asian Law Caucus serves low-income, immigrant and underserved Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. It maintains its unwavering commitment to the pursuit of justice on behalf of the many communities of Asian descent, including Arab, Middle Eastern, and Muslim communities. The Asian Law Caucus' fights for justice and equity are deeply informed by and in solidarity with fights for liberation by and for Black, Indigenous and Latinx communities.

The Asian Law Caucus provides legal services, community empowerment and policy advocacy to fight for immigrant justice, economic security and a stronger, multiracial democracy. Although its work is rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area and California, the Asian Law Caucus has expanded its services to states across the country, including places where immigrant, Asian, Arab, Middle Eastern, and Pacific Islander communities are rapidly growing.

For more information please see the Asian Law Caucus web site.

The presentation will be followed by Q&A in the last half hour of the program.

This program is hosted by the San Francisco Public Library's Government Information Center.
