Creative Mutual Aid is an art and mutual aid collective dedicated to fostering community, connection, and support through collaborative public art events. We activate parks, plazas, and other natural gathering spaces to create spontaneous communities where individuals can express themselves creatively, share skills, and engage in acts of generosity rooted in gift economy principles. Our efforts aim to build a more inclusive, supportive society beyond transactions.
We also operate a 24/7 creative request line (252-MYSTERY), where we respond directly to community needs with handmade art, city-specific resource lists, and spontaneous creative projects. These requests and responses have helped shape our flexible model and taught us how to listen deeply and create quickly based on the current need of our community.
