Learn about the six major types of Chinese tea, the function of each tea utensil and the philosophy and etiquette behind tea ceremonies. This is a hands-on session where participants can brew oolong tea using a gaiwan, experiencing the harmony, tranquility and elegance of the tea ceremony. Participate in a calligraphy activity to write the Chinese characters for “tea” (茶) and “fortune” (福), along with an explanation of their cultural significance. Some festive elements will be incorporate in the workshop to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year. For ages 12 and older.
