Hear an African origin tale and then create your own origin tale using creative paper crafts to re-create the characters that animate the tales created and told. For kids ages 5 and older.

Afri-Crafty Tales Workshops are a dynamic combination of oral storytelling with crafting and making. African American and African "How and Why Tales" are full of colorful and crafty tricksters: animals and creatures who have wild and imaginative explanations the how's and why's of the world and how things came to be. Bring your wild imaginations and creative hands.

This program is sponsored by Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.
