Step beyond words and into the raw, expressive language of the body in this introductory workshop on mime performance! Guided by director and mime artist Jamin Jollo, this workshop is designed for everyone: actors, dancers, movement artists, and curious creatives eager to unlock the full imaginative potential of silent theatre.

Mime is not mere pantomime—it is a metaphysical, soul-stirring discipline. Expect to sweat, play, push limits, reflect deeply, and rediscover the profound joy of physical creativity. Bring comfortable clothing for movement, water, a notebook if you'd like to take notes, and a willingness to be vulnerable, playful, and brave.

Who should attend: Performers of all backgrounds seeking a deeper connection to their physical storytelling abilities, or anyone looking to explore a transformative, expressive movement practice unlike any other.

Jamin is a classically trained mime and heightened language theatre actor. His pedagogy is melded from a conglomerate of artists such as James Donlon, James Jesse Peck, U. Jonathan Toppo, Kittycat Thompson, and other masters of physical theatre. Jamin has taught mime and stage combat for The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Marin Shakespeare Company, Circus Center, and classrooms for 6th Street Playhouse, Katia & Co, and Shakespearience. Jamin has played in Shakespeare and musical theatre shows across the Bay, all while debuting various Vaudevillian acts featuring mime, music, and absurdly comical costumes and props he designed and created. Jamin is the Technical Director at Church of Clown and also teaches mime and clown classes while directing Shakespeare plays throughout the Bay Area.
