For over 40 years, Precita Eyes has been enriching communities through collaborative murals that celebrate culture, unity, history and nature, and their work is currently on display at the Potrero Branch of the San Francisco Public Library. This stunning temporary mural was created during one of Precita Eyes’ hands-on workshops, where participants gain an overview of the mural-making process, including theme development, sketching ideas, transferring images and painting as a team-building activity. The workshop not only teaches the steps involved in creating a mural, but also fosters creativity, teamwork and a sense of community. The mural on display at the SFPL represents the collective effort and artistic spirit of the participants, showcasing how collaboration can result in powerful and meaningful public art. By visiting, you can experience the beauty and impact of community-driven art, while learning about Precita Eyes’ long-standing commitment to transforming urban spaces and promoting positive social change. This is a unique opportunity to connect with San Francisco’s rich cultural heritage and witness firsthand how art can bring people together.
