Join authors Sharon Danks, Asphalt to Ecosystems, and Arden Bucklin-Sporer and Rachel Pringle, How to Grow a School Garden, for an informative session about conceiving, designing, and sustaining green schoolyards and school gardens.  Get detailed advice on how to secure support from administrators, raise money, build in the schoolyard, manage volunteers and weave the experience into a school curriculum.  Inspiring examples presented from schools in California and around the world.

Additional speakers include:

Tori Jacobs is a Program Coordinator and founding board member of the Ecology Center of San Francisco (ECO-SF). She has a background in fine arts, activism and social change, and permaculture and also currently raises happy, egg laying hens on a ranch in Half Moon Bay.

Davin Wentworth Thrasher is a Program Coordinator and founding board member of the Ecology Center of San Francisco (ECO-SF).  He is a student of permaculture and ecological design and is currently studying engineering at SF State University where he also works on campus sustainability projects for the University's landscaping department.

[The Ecology Center of San Francisco (ECO-SF) is a locally grown 501(c)3 non-profit cooperative that cultivates ecological awareness in the San Francisco community. Since its founding in 2006, ECO-SF has worked directly with schools and communities, around the city to plant food and native habitat gardens, build benches and ovens made from natural materials like clay, sand and straw, and provide low-to-no cost ecological design consultation and facilitation.]

Sponsored by the Stegner Environmental Center.  A Green Stacks program.
