The Superfest International Disability Film Festival, which is the longest-running disability film festival in the world, is a showcase of juried films held in the San Francisco Bay Area. For nearly 30 years, this annual competition has celebrated cutting-edge cinema that portrays disability in all its diverse, complex, and engaging facets.

Presented by SFPL’s Access Services programs, the Paul K. Longmore Institute on Disability, and the Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, seven award-winning films, from Kazakhstan, Slovakia, the United Kingdom and the US, will be screened.

NOTE: The Main Library is wheelchair accessible. All films will be audio described and captioned. Braille and large-print screening schedules will be available at the event. Call 415-557-4557 or email with questions or requests for other accommodations. Requesting accommodations by Friday, August 5th will help to ensure availability.

This is a Films & Videos program from SFPL. From feature films to youth-made videos, we’ve got something great to watch.

Events for adults and children dealing with disabilities, their families, friends and allies.
