This panel explores Artificial Intelligence's potential to support new platforms for discovering employment opportunities, increasing skills, and reducing bias to achieve a workforce more inclusive of older adults and persons with disabilities.

  • Dan Gillette, Senior Research Scientist, CITRIS and the Banatoa Institute, UC Berkeley: Intro to the panel, overview AI/machine learning and some uses in the workforce pipeline.
  • Anita Aaron, Executive Director, World Institute on Disability: Disability perspective to topic, relevant tech-enabled examples, and discussion of global and/vs local potential impacts.
  • Cathy Spensley, Director of Senior Division, Felton Institute: The need for work in older populations, relevant tech-enabled examples, and possible impacts of AI machine learning on this topic.
  • Manu Gummi, Research Associate,¬†CITRIS and the Banatoa Institute, UC Berkeley: Overview of related policy and the work of the Putting AI to Work Initiative at CITRIS.
  • Scott Mauvais, Director, Technology and Civic Innovation, Microsoft: Assistive technology from mundane to near-sci-fi, including Microsofts existing and emerging product features.
