Drag Queen Story Hour and SFPL are teaming up for a special More Than a Month storytime featuring Black Benatar followed by a soulful, groovy dance party celebrating the sounds of black artists from the days of Motown and Disco!  There will be cookies and face painting too!  Bring your best looks and dancing shoes!  For more information call 415-355-2818.

Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.

These cultural events are free and open to the public. See More Than a Month for the complete program guide.
