Summer Stride 2017

Read. Explore. Connect.

May 13 – August 20, 2017

Summer Stride Guide 2017 (PDF)

Summer Stride encourages all ages and abilities to have fun reading and learning this summer. Stop by a neighborhood library and check out books, comics, eBooks, audiobooks, movies, music, and more. Plus, choose from more than 800 programs (all free!) to deepen reading enjoyment, spark STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) passions, and learn through active, outside exploration.

Back by popular demand, our partner-in-fun the National Park Service will provide ranger talks and free shuttles from neighborhood branch libraries to local national parks, as well as trailheads in select library locations that offer maps, directions, reading suggestions, and resources to enrich and expand your experience of visiting our area National Parks. These programs are also supported by the National Parks Conservancy and Presidio Trust.

Due to high demand, National Parks Service staff is managing reservations and waiting-list sign-ups for the Muir Woods shuttle departing the Main Library on Saturday, August 12. Please contact Matt Noreika directly at : / 415-561-3531.

For a fourth year, SFPL has partnered with Chronicle Books  on the beautiful artwork for the Summer Stride activity guide and other materials. (Regardless of age, you’re going to want all the stickers!)

Summer Stride is funded in large part by Friends of the San Francisco Public Library, whose generous members and donors advocate, champion and invest in our premier public Library system accessible to all.
