SFPL in Your Classroom
Boost up your classroom with a virtual visit from SFPL! Our talented Youth Services Librarians are standing by to bring stories, deliver a database class on a specific topic, share new titles and more. Let us know how we can support you and your students from the safety of the screen. With enough notice, we can cater the class visit to your specific curriculum and needs.
"Ms. Andrea went above and beyond to instill a love of reading in my students and her efforts have made the world of a difference. She took out her personal time to visit my virtual class on two separate occasions. She interviewed each student and created personalized reading lists for them based on their interests. And if that wasn't helpful enough, she even went ahead and placed holds on those books at their closest pickup location!"--Rabia Afzal, 5th/6th Grade ELA/History Teacher
We understand that teachers often need to reserve and borrow large quantities of library materials and to keep them for longer periods of time. For that reason, we invite you to activate your Teacher Card! Call (415) 557-4400 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to apply today.
A teacher is anyone currently employed as a teacher, educator, administrator, librarian, childcare provider, or afterschool program provider at a school, childcare facility or afterschool program in the City and County of San Francisco, or teachers who are residents of San Francisco but teach in districts outside of San Francisco. See Teacher Library Card.
The Scholar Card connects students to millions of FREE resources including:
- Online homework help
- Language learning tools
- Books, audiobooks, graphic novels, music & movies
- Research databases
All SFUSD students have a Scholar Card and have received their Scholar Card number via email.
Students need a PIN to access eResources. If students have forgotten their PIN, try their birth month and birth date (January 10 = 0110) or go to Reset PIN to change it.
Public charter, private and parochial schools are also eligible for Scholar Cards. Call (415) 557-4400 email email@example.com to learn more.
