Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage! Winner of Best Feature Film at the Berlin International Film Festival and nominated for the Grand Jury Prize: World Cinema/Dramatic @ Sundance Film Festival. Acclaimed director Taika Waititi (Hunt for the Wilderpeople) presents a creative, endearing, coming-of-age comedy set in 1984, following an eleven-year-old Michael Jackson fanatic nicknamed "Boy" (James Rolleston). Boy becomes the head of a household full of kids when his Nana leaves town for a funeral. Boy's Dad (Waititi) re-enters Boy's life after being absent. Waititi adopts a fanciful deadpan tone part Wes Anderson and part Flight of the Conchords. It's one of the most creative comedies you'll see all year. We'll be streaming from the library's free online platform Kanopy.
