Forward Together

10/25/2019
4:00 - 5:00

Main Library

Saroyan Gallery - 6th Floor

100 Larkin St.

Violence against Black and Indigenous women and girls has greatly impacted our communities, and Black and Indigenous women and girls still are victim to the highest murder and missing persons rates in the nation.

This workshop examines Missing Murdered and Indigenous Women (MMIW) and Say Her Name as distinct yet related movements that hold systems of power accountable for the ongoing erasure of violence against Black and Indigenous women and girls.

Together, we would like to work to uncover the root causes of this targeted violence, and seek to foster communal discussions aimed at accountability, healing, and imagining new ways of living and moving together as a political commitment toward upholding the sovereignty and safety of Black and Indigenous peoples.
