Noted author Joan Gelfand reads from her critically acclaimed book Outside Voices: A Memoir of the Berkeley Revolution. Yates Cessna, writer and artist, engages the author in a conversation followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

Gelfand is the author of three well-reviewed poetry collections and an award-winning fiction chapbook, Her debut novel Extreme, set in a Silicon Valley startup, is published by Blue Light Press. Her memoir Outside Voices is about Berkeley in the 70s.

Recipient of numerous awards, nominations and honors, Joan’s work appears in national and international literary journals, magazines and online.
