Thrasher magazine was founded in San Francisco in 1981 and continues to publish a new issue every month. In its pages, we get interviews with up-and-coming local skaters like Karl Watson, Cairo Foster, Pat Washington and Stevie Williams. It also gives us an opportunity to “touch the cement” of the most hallowed spots in the City, to trick and flip and the most gnarly hills to bomb. In so many issues, our city by the bay is a star equal to the featured skaters.
SFPL’s Magazines and Newspapers Center owns Thrasher magazine from 1992 to present (ask for it at the 5th floor Page Desk), and the magazine is available digitally on the Flipster platform from 2014 to present.
