Water For Life follows three Latin American Indigenous community leaders as they face death threats and murder to save their precious water resources from mining, industrial agriculture, and hydroelectric projects. The right to clean water is a global issue—in Latin America it has become a matter of life and death. Panel discussion with director Will Parrinello, Roxanna Altholz and Vicente Franco. Narrated by Mexican actor Diego Luna with the original song Ko (Water) sung by Grammy Award-winning Mexican Mixtec singer Lila Downs and Chilean Mapuche singer-songwriter Daniela Millaleo.

Will Parrinello has been making award-winning documentaries for the past 30 years. His current film Water for Life explores the collision of water rights, Indigenous beliefs, and resource extraction through the lives of three community leaders in Chile, Honduras and El Salvador.
Roxanna Altholz, director of the UC Berkeley Human Rights Law Clinic and advisor to Water for Life, led the investigation into the conspiracy to assassinate Berta Cáceres, the Honduran protagonist and Lenca leader of the documentary. Without her GAIPE Report, the eight men who were tried, convicted and sentenced to between 20 - 50 years in prison would never have been brought to justice.
Vicente Franco, director of photography and consulting producer on Water For Life. Vicente is an Academy Award and Emmy Award-nominated, Sundance Grand Jury Prize winning filmmaker for his documentary Daughter From Danang. He's filmed five other Academy Award nominated documentaries.
