Celebrate Pride, Juneteenth and summer with Nidhi Chanani, 2026 Summer Stride Illustrator, and friends at Yerba Buena Gardens' Fun Zone (701 Howard Street, San Francisco 94103):

11:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.: Sarah Bush Dance Project, presenting an engaging dance presentation and workshop. Sarah Bush Dance Project (SBDP) creates bridges to the world they want to live in. They are an intergenerational and multiracial dance company that celebrates queer artists, community and culture. 

12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.: Per Sia, the City's Drag Laureate will emcee a read-aloud event with local BIPOC and LGBTQIA authors, including: Nidhi Chanani, Marcus Ewert, Angela Dalton and Booki Vivat

1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.: Duniya Drum and Dance Company will demo and lead Bhangra, an energetic Punjabi dance. Duniya Dance and Drum Company, a South Asian and West African racial and immigrant justice performing arts organization. As a company founded and led by West African and South Asian traditional artists, they prioritize featuring BIPOC artists and work to increase the economic value of our labor.

Participate in activities throughout the day:

  • Zine-making with SF Zine Fest, seeking to advance the do-it-yourself ethos by fostering community throughout the Bay Area. They celebrate and support independent writers, artists and creators, allowing them to share their work with an ever-growing audience in exhibitions and public events.
  • Letterpress Bookmarks with The Arion Press, the only printer in the United States to make books entirely by hand under one roof. 
  • Start collecting stickers for a free Adventure Map from SF Children and Nature. Connecting families with 30+ nature destinations and adventures across San Francisco, this summer.
  • New book giveaway, for all-ages.
  • Button-making and magnet-making, for all-ages.
  • STEM activities, for youth.
