Enjoy a screening of Valerie Soe’s documentary THE AUNTIE SEWING SQUAD RESISTANCE PLAYBOOK followed by a Q&A and book-signing with Auntie Sewing Squad Overlord Kristina Wong, presenting her new book, Auntie Kristina's Guide to Asian American Activism.

THE AUNTIE SEWING SQUAD RESISTANCE PLAYBOOK looks at the Auntie Sewing Squad, a collective of mostly Asian American and BIPOC women sewists who saved the world at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. For the Aunties, sewing and donating masks was not just about meeting a public health need—it was a way to address feminism, anti-racism, allyship, and destroying white supremacy.

Auntie Kristina's Guide to Asian American Activism shows young readers how to love their bodies, fight for social justice and be proud of the history that's made them who they are.
