Learn how to test your home for radon using the library’s new Radon Cube lending program, made possible through a partnership with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Indoor Radon Program. This presentation explains what radon is, why it is a health concern, and why testing is the only way to detect it. Attendees learn how radon levels can vary from home to home, how to use and interpret Radon Cube readings, and what steps to take if elevated levels are found, including mitigation options and typical costs.
Radon is invisible and undetectable without testing, but testing is simple, accessible, and effective solutions are available when elevated levels are found.
Presented by Dale Parks, State Radon Officer and Senior Environmental Scientist, California Department of Public Health Indoor Radon Program.
