StopScamsSF is the nation's first city-led program dedicated to protecting residents from financial scams. Led by the Treasurer's Office's Economic Justice Center, the initiative is hosting Listen and Learn Sessions to educate the community on the most common scams and tactics scammers use to target residents. During these sessions, participants will have the chance to share their own experiences and feedback — input that helps shape how the city responds to and addresses scams going forward.
Presenter bio: Mandy Ngu, Community Engagement Specialist. Mandy serves as the Community Engagement Specialist for the Office of Financial Empowerment. She previously worked in the Mayor's Office, where she partnered with community leaders and nonprofit organizations to host cultural celebrations and strengthen connections between local government and San Francisco's diverse communities. She later joined the Department of Public Health's communications team, supporting leadership messaging, media events, and internal communications. Mandy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San José State University. A San Francisco native and daughter of immigrants, she is deeply committed to serving her community.
