After her husband has been abducted by state authorities, Musrat flees Kashmir with her son to eventually settle in Atlanta, where they continue to grapple with the trauma from insurgency and state crackdown, not to mention revocation of Kashmir's state autonomy. Spanning a period from 1990 to 2019, the film captures Masrat's resilience and struggles as her son navigates the inter-generational issues in a land without his father.
