The opening reception for Eyewitness to the Resistance: Photojournalists on the Front Lines of Protest marks the debut of this exhibition pairing historical photographs from the San Francisco History Center with recent work by Pro Bono Photo photographers.
The images document protests across generations, capturing the messages people carry, the coalitions they form, the spaces they occupy and the responses their presence provokes. Together, they trace continuities in public protest while recognizing the distinct history, purpose and stakes of each movement.
The exhibition is presented in connection with an Oct. 22 panel discussion hosted by Indivisible SF and Pro Bono Photo.
