Join us and celebrate the Italians of our past and their lasting contributions. San Francisco, Italy. That’s what San Francisco Italian Consul General Mauro Battocchi would call the City. But before San Francisco, Italy, we had Little Italy dotting Telegraph Hill, sweeping down into the North Beach. Take a virtual tour with over 100 vintage images, gazing at the art of Bufano, the architecture of Mastropasqua, Italian banks, restaurants, businesses and more.


Presenter: Catherine Accardi is a native San Franciscan, born on Telegraph Hill. She is a historian and author of three San Francisco books; North Beach & Telegraph HillSan Francisco Landmarks, and San Francisco Through Time. With an A.A. in Photography, B.A.in Urban Studies/Historic Preservation, Catherine has made over 40 presentations and has been a journalist with more than 150 published articles. The streets, byways and alleys of the City’s North Beach are her favorite haunt, every landmark documented and every experience remembered.
