Peirce is a San Francisco-based gardener, author, photographer, and lecturer, whose classic regional gardening book, Golden Gate Gardening includes planting calendars covering microclimates from the foggy coast to the hot inland as far as Walnut Creek or San Jose. Pam taught horticulture at City College of San Francisco for nearly 30 years and wrote a garden column in the San Francisco Chronicle beginning in 2006. She is currently beginning work on a book of recent columns.
