From the director of The Joy Luck Club and Chan is Missing, Wayne Wang’s Dim Sum: A Little Bit of Heart (1985) offers another love letter to San Francisco, this time centering on the City’s Richmond District.  As the film narrative unfolds, a Chinese immigrant widow faces the New Year with some anxiety when her own death is foretold.  The heroine creates a bucket list of things she wants to accomplish before she dies, including seeing her daughter married and visiting China one last time.  Get into the spirit of Lunar New Year with this San Francisco movie.
