Celebrate San Francisco author Alvin Orloff’s latest book, a comic tale of marginalized misfits trying to survive the rapid gentrification of late 1990s San Francisco.

A veteran of San Francisco’s punk club scene and co-founder of queer cabaret Klubstitute, Orloff is the author of the novels I Married an Earthling, Gutter Boys and Why Aren’t You Smiling? Disasterama!, his memoir of life in the queer underground during the the AIDS crisis was one of SFPL’s On The Same Page picks.

The Bay Area Reporter calls Vulgarian Rhapsody a “fun, frothy tour of a bygone time and place where San Franciscans were at the mercy of free-flowing greed and a tech tidal wave that moved all of us online whether we liked it or not.”

Ten free copies of Orloff's book will be raffled to audience members at the end of the presentation.
