Environmental Sociologist Brynna Jacobson (USF) will discuss her book Geoengineering Discourse Confronting Climate Change: The Move from Margins to Mainstream in Science, News Media, and Politics. The book explores how geoengineering has emerged in scientific, media and policy circles as a climate solution despite the risks inherent to these technologies. Q and A to follow her remarks.

Brynna Jacobson teaches in the sociology department at the University of San Francisco. She earned her doctorate degree from the University of California, San Diego in Sociology with an emphasis in the subfields of Environmental Sociology, Political Economy, and Law & Society.
